I have a copy of this book, but our Reading program does word sorts and uses them as spelling words too. It teaches a 2-3 patterns at a time...ay and ai for example. Do you think I could combine the two? I haven't looked at the book in a while. I purchased it for a Graduate class, but really haven't looked at it since.
ReplyDeleteI love using WTW as well, but I personally use it as my spelling program. I use it slightly differently than the book recommends, but that is just what works for me! For example, I retype the sorts to only include about 10 words. I don't think second graders need more than that per week. I agree that trial and error is best.
ReplyDeleteWe use WTW almost school wide. What do you use as your spelling words if not the weekly sorts? I made my lists based on WTW lists.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteJust curious, what do you use for your spelling words then each week?
Thanks,
Emily
